Gems of Inspiration,
I find it inconceivable that any title other than Tales2Inspire could possibly be assigned to Lois Stern’s Topaz Collection. Lois‘ compilation of inspiring stories is a powerful and touching tribute to the inherent qualities of compassion and strength of the human spirit. Each story touches the reader’s emotions and offers inspiration in a different, yet similar way. From the journey of Gabriel Cordell in Roll of a Lifetime, to the adventurous spirit of Luke Potter and his family in New Life in the Country, to the deep compassion and understanding of Dr. Pirnot in As I Am, the human spirit is highlighted and will move your soul in a very deep and powerful way. In a world that is seemingly dominated by the prominence of the media’s negative “News,” Tales2Inspire is a refreshing tribute to the kind and compassionate deeds that exist everywhere in our global society. I highly recommend the Topaz Collection to anyone seeking to witness the human spirit at its best.
Glenn Poveromo, Award winner speaker and Author of: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life, Learn to Live Your Best Life Possible and Simple thoughts About Life and Living

Tales2Inspire by Lois W. Stern is a collection of 13 non-fiction short inspirational stories. Though my goal with the book was entertainment many of the stories teach powerful lessons that can only be taught through the prospective of someone living a very different life than mine.
There were lines that stopped me in my tracks. For instance, a high achieving diabetic high school admonishing his over-protective mother with, "Mom, do you own this disease or do I?" Another was an adopted girls realization about true happiness. Or, the incredible bond between a Dr. and her 7- year quadriplegic patient.
Many stories seek to teach us about the power of the mind, but this story may be the best illustration I've read. The first exchange between Dr. and patient was the child saying he had a "really bad tummy ache." The Dr. took that as a "clue to the healing of the soul because he could feel nothing below his neck." Then she induces him into a state of hypnosis and an amazing story begins and brings an enjoyable and enlightening book to an end.

Lois Stern has created a true gift with her Tales2Inspire anthology collection. I am proud to be a published author in the Topaz Collection of this series. The Topaz Collection is filled with heartwarming stories of personnel transformation, as daily events subtly and consistently reveal to each author new aspects of living a more full and rewarding life. The depth of the messages in each story is in contrast to the simplicity of the tales. This makes one realize that these gentle moments of awakening are available not only to the lucky few; they are available to all, especially to those who look, and, with the help of these insightful stories, see with newly opened eyes. This book would be a wonderful gift for a friend who just might need a little inspiration. There is plenty of that here for everyone!!

Collection of the best entertaining, Inspirational short stories
Lois W. Stern, creator of "The Topaz Collection," one of the books in a series of inspirational books in the "Tales2Inspire" series, presents stories that teach, charm and warm the heart. Each story is unique yet shares a bond of uplifting and gratifying life experiences told through the words of writers like Susan C. Haley. She brings a large baby calf into the world when its mother runs into life-threatening problems trying to deliver it. The bond between Haley and and the surviving calf prevails as he grows to become a 2000 pound white bull.
Author Lois W. Stern relates how she overcame her fear of public speaking when she was a shy first grade student, by standing in front of her classmates and amusing them with an account of how she found an opossum in her garage. Their response, so excited and intrigued, gave Lois a life lesson that would bring her success later in her endeavors.
Writer Karen Pirnot, PHD, in her story, shows how she helps a quadriplegic young boy to learn to use his mental imagery to 'touch and feel' things that he can't in reality. Garret grows up to lead a fuller life due to this practice and becomes a role model for others in his situation. These are just three of thirteen exceptional works.
"Tales2Inspire" and "The Topaz Collection" has inspired new and seasoned writers to achieve success while improving their innate skills and then sharing their award winning stories; reflecting the miracles of life happening all around us. This is a book to be read and reread, learning something new each time.
Those enjoying these fascinating and sometimes humorous tales will want to move on to read other accounts of the strength and faith of ordinary and extraordinary people, in "The Emerald Collection" and in the upcoming "Sapphire" and "Ruby" collections. Each book is named for a specific gem because each story is a sparkling jewel to be read and treasured.
Micki Peluso, journalist and author of . . . And the Whippoorwill Sang

The Topaz Collection is filled with stories that are heartwarming and inspiring. Dan, the trumpet player who battles serious medical issues ends up in a coma, on hospice care. While still unconscious he started to move his fingers up and down as we would if he was playing the trumpet and shortly after he woke up from his coma. He regained his strength and a few months later was discharged from Hospice Care. He continued to improve with the help of the loving care of his wife of many years. Another heartwarming story is of the family that moves to the Australian countryside from suburbia, with no more than a tin caravan and a shack to call home. This story tells of the love of family and commitment to a couple's dreams and how these helped them meet the many challenges facing them as they moved back to the country. This book is filled with stories in which a person realizes something that can affect their life or achieves a goal that often seems insurmountable. I think the Tales2Inspire are interesting in many different ways and encourage readers to try one. You will most likely want to get another one soon after.

A Treasure Chest of Possibilities
The Topaz is the birthstone gem that symbolizes energy and truth seeking.
All thirteen inspirational tales in The Topaz Collection add a distinctive and clarifying facet to this gem of a book.
Charles Musgrave's "And the Music Plays On", teaches a lesson to even the most cynical of us that 'modern day miracles' indeed occur. This story gives a message of hope, despite many obstacles, and demonstrates the power of our inner strength and determination.
In "Proof of Life", Melissa Dallago explains how death taught her about life. This story is an inspiration to anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. It is relatable, thought provoking and tender from start to finish.
This is a timeless book for all ages - the perfect gift for the reader in your life who needs an infusion of possibilities, positive energy and hope.
Maria Couchara- Jordan, MSN, RN
Author of 'Kylie's Blossoms'; Nurse Instructor

Tales2Inspire ~ The Topaz Collection: Awakenings & Aha Moments
Each story in this book is a winner from the annual Tales2Inspire international competition, anonymously selected by a jury of accomplished authors. You will read a 'baker's dozen' amazing stories, including stories about a man who rolls across America in his non-motorized wheelchair, a new horse owner tho learns how to communicate with her recalcitrant horse while observing other horses in pasture, a trumpet that literally saves the life of one musician . . .
This is just a sampling of the thirteen inspiring stories you will find within the pages of this book.

Maggy Downey Reviews Nonfiction Inspiration at Perfect Time

Title: Heaven is for Real
Author: Todd Burpo
ISBN-10: 0849946158
Genre of book: Nonfiction

Reviewed by Maggy Downey originally for her Maggy Downey blog

Heaven Really is for Real
What I needed as a side companion reading Heaven is for Real while commuting to and from work was a box of Kleenex. I cried like a child reading many sections of this book.
For two years I planned to read this book, but I just got around to it now. And boy am I glad I did. This is just the spiritual inspiration I need in my life at this very moment.
This true story about Colton Burpo’s visit to heaven and his encounter with Jesus Christ happened when he almost died of a ruptured appendix at just three-years-old.  During his visitation to heaven, Colton attended school and meet John the Baptist and family members who passed on well before he was even a thought in the physical world.  He even got to meet a sister he never knew he had.
After his recovery, bit by bit, Colton started to share various aspects of his encounter in heaven with Todd and Sonja Burpo, his parents. At first Colton’s parents, paid their toddler no mind and chalked up his evangelistic ministering to great Sunday School teachings, but as the stories became more detailed, complex and way too sophisticated for any three-year-old to comprehend, let alone retain, Todd began to probe his son on theological doctrine only to discover his son was indeed in heaven.
This beautiful revelation of Colton’s is delicately unwrapped in Heaven is for Real. It is inspirational for Christians, non-Christians, agnostics and atheists. Readers get a firsthand account of a toddler’s journey into the supernatural world and the solidification and confidence of his father’s faith in our creator.
The events of Colton’s encounter in heaven were not shared with his parents in one sitting, but throughout the course of a few years after his surgery. This is one of the reasons why it took as long as it did for Colton’s father to write a book on it.
I can’t see anyone not being blessed after reading this book. This is one book that will not disappoint.

#DreamTweet a Fun Concept in Self Help

Title: #DreamTweet

Reviewed by Theresa Morrow

I would like to introduce a book I have read. I have also and worked with the author. It is #DreamTweet by Joe Heuer, aka The Rock and Roll Guru published by ThinkAha books.

While watching TV a few weeks ago, I began to notice the commercials were predominately about the Winter Olympics. I watched and listened to the athletes as they talked about what it meant to them to be a part of this worldly event. The described how much dedication it took for them to reach this goal of a lifetime but they wouldn’t have it any other way because it was their DREAM. It was so important to them, that no matter what, it was the one thing they wanted to do it was a part of who they are as a human being.

Well, this is the kind of advice, tips and inspiration you will receive when you read, #DreamTweet by Joe Heuer.

Here are just a few of the wise words from Joe in #DreamTweet:

Be specific in creating your dream. Clarity provides tremendous power. (pg 3)

~Find people who are living their dream and study them. (pg 19)
~You absolutely, positively gotta be the number one believer in your dream. No ifs, ands, or buts! (pg. 28)
~Fear is your dream’s adversary. The most effective technique for casting off your fears is to bathe them in the
light of love. (pg. 49)
~Each day spend time imagining your dream in all its resplendent glory, while feeling the rush of positive emotion that accompanies it. (pg 74)

And Joe is a great role model for his kids because they had this to say about their dad: “Our dad is the perfect person to write ‘DREAMtweet,’ since he’s living his own dream as the Rock and Roll Guru!” –Alex and Rachel Heuer

What else more can I say? So Rock on and live your dreams!

You can order your copy of download a copy of #DreamTweet at ThinkAha website.

Clinical Psychologist Examines Inspirational Anthology

Created and edited by Lois W. Stern

Blurb: Is there really such a thing as coincidence? Or could there be an unknown force, a higher order, taking charge? These are thoughts you are likely to question as you read this collection of inspiring stories of “six degrees of separation” true tales of happenings experienced by winning authors from across the globe. Tales2Inspire is an  “Authors Helping Authors” project/contest developed by Lois W. Stern, which provides talented writers with several excellent platform building opportunities - all for free.

Review from Karen Pirnot: Posted on Amazon.com

Do you believe there's a reason for everything? Do you think people come into our lives (and leave) for a reason? Well, if so, this book is an inspiration for you all!

Come inside and meet those who have faced life squarely and are here to share their stories - stories filled with messages of hope and inspiration. You will meet a skilled physician, unable to revive a nearly frozen newborn baby girl, who discovers a lifesaving solution during a moment of prayer. You will read about two elephants, so deeply bonded in their early years together, who display beyond human emotion when unexpectedly reunited after a separation of over 22 years. Lastly, you will marvel at the story of an orphan adopted by a family who offers him a million-to-one chance of having a fulfilling life.

These are real life stories, sometimes gut-wrenching, but always leaving the reader with a sense of newness and unwavering belief in something greater than us all. No matter your formal belief system (or not), you just can't help but come away thinking there is so much in this universe totally outside of our control and yet, something there to offer a hand-up along the way.

The tales do inspire. They bring you to your knees and then, they lift you up again. Congratulations to Lois W. Stern for bringing together ordinary people with extraordinary tales. The writers are not celebrities found in the tabloids. Rather, they are the common people who, when adversity strikes, are there to comfort and to facilitate healing.

Learning Techniques of Nude Photography

Title: True Confessions of Nude Photography
Author: A.K. Nicholas
Genre or category: Nonfiction: Arts & Photography > Photography > Subjects > Nudes
ISBN 978-1452808680
Publisher: Createspace
Includes 120+ pages, 170 nude poses, and 10 detailed lighting diagrams.

Author's Synopsis

Learn to photograph beautiful nude female models by reading this book.

It’s a step-by-step guide to recruiting beautiful women to model for you, lighting, photographing nudes, post-processing images, and maybe even getting paid to do it. The human body has been an inspiration for artists since before the invention of photography. Naturally, nudes were one of the first subjects of photography as well.

Prior experience with nude models is not required to benefit from this how-to guide. This guide can be enjoyed by anyone at any stage in their career, but is written for two main audiences: the accomplished photographer wanting insight from a peer, and the serious amateur wanting a guided introduction to the field.

A range of processes are explained step-by-step. It's more than just a collection of photos; you’ll see full lighting diagrams as well as frank discussions of techniques and pitfalls in making the images. The book explains how to prepare in the days and weeks leading up to making a nude photo shoot. From finding your first nude model to selling your first nude photo, the guide presents complete, concise instruction on lighting, posing, and-post processing with Photoshop.

The human body has been an inspiration for artists since before the invention of photography. Naturally, nudes were one of the first subjects of photography as well. Although the guide covers the basics of nude photography, it is assumed that you have a digital camera that is more advanced than a point-and-shoot and that you already understand the basics of operating your camera.

Nude photography entails more than just photographic technique, there is a huge interpersonal element; much more so than in any other kind of people photography. The guide addresses everything from finding models, to working with them long term. Most guides on photographic technique assume you've already found a willing model. This one assumes that you're having trouble - or at least having trouble finding a model that you feel takes your work to the next level. It contains techniques for finding and recruiting models.

This book has been helpful to me in understanding my own
hypersensitivity. It is a good overview of the healing process.
She writes with compassion and joy and gives a lot of good
information about healing and all sorts of things. Her own
journey is fascinating and I can relate to much of what she has
experienced. Some of it I skimmed through as it can be a little
repetitive and I am already familiar with the concepts such as
energy, resonance, and vibration. For anyone who is a very
sensitive individual or for someone who is looking for answers
for difficult health issues, this book will be helpful and could
be a life saver. This is a much needed book for a world that is
becoming more and more hectic and unhealthy, and is seeing more
and more immune system disorders from all the toxins (energetic
and physical). If holistic practitioners would read this they
would be able to better help a whole segment of people. I am
going to order her foundations healing process guidebook right

BEST REVIEW:

Perennial Inspiration - Right on Time

Over the ages, a diamond has been viewed as a love-crystal which is 'dependable in its virtues when given as a gift'.

Half of this lovingly-compiled collection is written by and about some 'Awesome Kids', with the remainder focusing on the 'tails' of animals. As a longtime lover of theTales2Inspire series, The Diamond Collection - Series 3 is my absolute favorite. Each of these 31 stories is a perennial reminder that miracles can happen with all ages, sizes, and species.

If you need an infusion of optimism, healing, and love, this timeless book is 'right on time'. Consider sharing with a special child in your life as well. Inspiration is infectious in the best of ways.

Noir Short Stories Reviewed: Move Over Stephen King

Title: Bloodstains On The Wall / Three Stories From The Dark Side

Author: Mike Dennis
Author's website link: http://mikedennisnoir.com/
Genre: Noir
ISBN-13: 978-0615455389
ISBN-10: 0615455387

Rating: ***** (five stars)

Enter the 'noir' mind of Mike Dennis and you're in another zone, an area where you suspend disbelief. These three entertaining short stories are eerie in inspiration, spare and terse in their language, and brilliantly original in concept. "Block" especially blew my mind. While fresh and original, it had a Rod Serling feel to it that had me humming the theme from The Twilight Zone. I can't wait to read more stories quarried from the dark side of this guy's mind. Move over Stephen King.
